Unlawful subletting
Unlawful subletting stops new homes being built!
If we don't fill our homes we won't build more: let's stamp it out. Book this course now to help you effectively quash subletting.
A critical argument is: why do we need more housing when we don't fill our existing ones? A report in The Daily Telegraph in September says there are 157,000 illegal sublets in social housing. Previous estimates by the Audit Commission put the figure at 50,000 – which was bad enough. The Telegraph goes on to say: "Freeing up existing social housing would also reduce waiting lists and mean fewer new properties would have to be built."
Organisations must prove that stock is being utilised properly so the sector can build more affordable homes. It's not just about fraud.
