Estate management – back to basics
As a housing officer, estate officer or scheme manager, you’re expected to be a juggler, a real jack of all trades, with a job description that can cover everything from setting rents and dealing with arrears, through anti-social behaviour orders and breaches of tenancy agreements, to monitoring and tackling voids.
As if all that wasn’t enough to deal with, the regulatory environment keeps changing: what exactly is happening with the Tenant Services Authority? When will the Homes and Communities Agency take over, and what will that mean to you on the ground?
It’s enough to make your head explode. If you’re new to the role or would like a refresher, this training course will help you greatly in identifying your responsibilities.
Session will/can include:
- The basics you actually need to know to do your job efficiently on a daily basis – voids and how to market them, allocations, viewings, rent collection, FTAs and ASB
- The current and future regulatory framework – what has changed recently, where is it going, and when? (Including performance indicators and tenancy standards)
- And the more specialised stuff – homelessness, evictions, maintenance, housing development, finances.
Who should attend?
Everyone whose job involves looking after a ‘patch’ and everyone and everything in it!
