Group dynamics

Groups can be complicated, diverse, difficult to handle effectively and often don’t achieve the outcomes required.

The key to understanding group dynamics is to accept and acknowledge that groups, however small, are formed from individuals. They can be complex, chaotic and full of contradictions. Add little individual resentments, demotivation, pragmatism, ambition, etc, into the mix and you can see why working with the dynamic is key to any success you may achieve.

Whether you are working on a project, attending meetings or leading an organisation, when people come together it can be both remarkable and challenging. Understanding group dynamics and addressing them will help your group stay the course and accomplish its mission.
